The Peanut Belt RPO is a Rural Transportation Planning Organization comprised of Bertie, Halifax, Hertford, and Northampton Counties. Through cooperation between the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), Local Government Staff, and Elected Officials, the RPO works to evaluate and meet the transportation needs in the area. These needs will include highways, bikeways, pedestrian walkways, and rail systems.

PBRPO Prioritization 5.0 Local Input Point Assignment Methodology

In accordance with legislative requirements, each MPO and RPO throughout the state is required to develop a Local Input Point Assignment Methodology. This Methodology will be used to prioritize projects within the PBRPO, which will then be submitted to NCDOT for programming the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program(STIP). The following Local Input Point Assignment Methodology was approved by the Strategic Prioritization Office of Transportation at NCDOT and by the PBRPO TCC and TAC on February 15th, 2018.
